Yeah, the Vikes still have a shot at home field. (I think, not 100% sure on the tie-breaker, but I think the Vikings have it)

man you guys are quick. I was just on the way here to post this very thread!

GO BOYS!

I was really hoping to see 18-0 Saints vs. 18-0 Colts in the Super Bowl because I am really tired of hearing from Mercury Morris every year.

Thanks Bill,
My sentiments exactly.
I stopped watching or caring about Football, baseball, basketball, and hockey when they go on strike for more money, when they are making more than 4 times the average person JUST TO START, and way more after a year or two.

All I have to say to them is boo hoo if you can;t keep stuff out of your nose long enough to save something

The team everybody loves to hate! Sometimes it is SO MUCH FUN being a Cowboys fan!

I actually quit watching sports because of the strikes also. But my love for all things action insured my "strike" didn't last long. I am a 3rd Generation Cowboys fan, have been all my life so the loyalty there is unwavering.

Now Oklahoma finally has a Pro team of their own (GO THUNDER), so naturally i am once again gravitating toward B-Ball! They have already won more games this year than they were expected to win! And they BARELY lost to the Lakers, In LA, IN Overtime! I CANT WAIT till next year when the new bright orange KD's come out!

Sun shines on a dogs *** every once in while.Or as Tom Petty and me say even the losers get lucky sometimes,LOL.Not a Cowboys hater just not a believer in Romo.My opinionated 2 cents,Victor

Jerry,

If you were responding to my post, you misread me. I was crying as a Saints fan who has followed them since Archie Manning, Tom Dempsey and other "ancient" heroes and was hoping for that perfect season!

Does anyone realize that Archie Mannings career record was 35-103-3 (or something really close to that). And he is an "ancient hero"? And you're let down by a 13-1 record? Interesting.....

Zach,

As far as disappointment with a 13 and 1 record, what fan isn't disappointed when their team is defeated?

Children don't realize that the rules that help expansion teams to quickly develop into competitive teams did not exist when the Saints were formed. The Saints were given cast offs from other teams. To add to that, the owner wanted instant results and signed a bunch of over the hill veterans. In a small market, it took many years to recover from this mismanagement and build a decent team.

Archie was the quarterback during the worst of these times. He was beaten up regularly, but remained a gracious competitor for his entire career. If Archie had been fortunate enough to have a decent supporting cast, his record would have been much better.

Since his football career ended, he and his family have been wonderful representatives of New Orleans. Archie has always supported the Saints both in the broadcast booth and as a fan. Payton and Eli both gave huge amounts of goods and money after the Katrina disaster.

Archie's career and life make him a hero in my book. You are free to choose your heroes without ridicule; something you should consider extending to other people.

Cav,
I by no means meant in his life he is not a hero. Just his career. And I understand the past situation with the bad players, but the argument for "a better supporting cast" could be made for anyone. But as Parcel's says, "You are what your record says you are".

Sorry if I was misunderstood in my comment. Archie and his family have been nothing by amazing for that city.
