Hey Dion, Count me in for sure and I'll probably drag Kathy along too. She will enjoy the other wives once she gets to meet them.

I am a specialist on old fashioned Potato Salad. Will a 1/2 gal be enough or you think I need to make more?

I also do a real mean Guacamole, with a recipe I learned in Costa Rica. I can do either or both.

I'm gonna work on my Show & Tell pens as I was sorely out classed last meeting. How about trade blanks? We gonna do that again? It was fun. I'm gonna invite a real pen pro if he doesn't have to work that Sat. He is turning (and selling!!) about 1500 pens a year in his spare time as he works a 50 hour week at the Post Office. See his work at website www.Pens by Bruno. Really classy antler pens and other stuff.

You can count me in as well. My Valerie had a good time at Monte's too, so I'm sure she will come with me. Valerie will probably want to watch the casting demo also. Thanks, Sam

Count me in!

And since the better half told me to "go have a good time", I'm gonna try to bring another local pen turning fella I've met recently.

Oh and I make a mean pot of beans!

Brad,
PM me your info so we can make arrangements. And I'm planning on M&G the following weekend also.
I was pullin' yer leg Mannie. I live in Conroe. :rotfl:

If you want, you can hitch a ride with me up to Huntsville the following weekend. It'll save about 100 miles.

I thought you lived in the north part of Houston, didn't remember it being Conroe.
But I'd still be willing to drop by and pick you up :devil:

I would really love to come, but that is the weekend for one of our better shows, and my wife had already paid for this show months ago. Maybe the next meeting in the summer will finally give me a chance to meet all yall.

Get-to-gether

Hey guys, I'd like to come. Went to Mannies back several yrs ago for bubbafest. I pm'd him about this group and he said watch the post. Soooo I see there is going to be a get-to-gether. I will check with my better half and get back with what we can bring. Schedule at Sheriff's Dept is fluctuating but I'd like to be added to the list.
Thanks
Charles

OK we are only a couple weeks away those of you that have not yet signed up to bring a dish please do so. Have a look at what is listed on the first post. Also if you are bringing your better half and I have not listed please let me know. I will be sending a PM or email to each of you with my address and directions to my house. Looking forward to us getting together. Also any suggestions besides a blank exchange (raffle or ??) would be welcome!

Dion

Brad,
You might ask Dion if that is a piece that I gave him for the group. If it is the piece that I gave him...I have no earthly idea what it is but have some more and suggest lot's of, and I mean lot's of CA.
Enjoy,
Vern

Monty,
I don't remember! One of the advantages of being a Senior Citizen. I have had many guesses, spalted pecan being one, but haven't yet had anyone that really knew. Probably never will unles they are real botanists. It's still pretty stuff when it is finished, or rather if it is finished.

Ya know, it does have a wavy grain pattern in it like the curly pecan I brought.

I think ya'll may be right, I think it is spalted pecan.

Thanks!
