My wife convinced me to go for a long weekend (5 Feb - 9 Feb) to the Orlando area. Can anyone make a recommendation regarding where to stay and do not pay too much (no interest in Disney!!).

My family stayed at the Hampton on International Blvd. Close to Lockheed Martin engineering facility, just out side of Disney / Universal price gouge zone.

You might check "Hotwire.com". Just got some stuff today on rates in Orlando. Good prices. Deleted it.

You can also check that auction site. They have houses people rent out very reasonable. At least the last time I looked they were.

international drive is another tourist trap.....not disney but touristy anyway.
it kinda depends on what part of orlando you plan on visiting.....
anything along the east side of town along highway 550 would be better than i drive.....JMO
