Horizontal vs. Verticle casting

Has anyone done a comparison of the two? I am looking for the pros and cons of each. I have about 50 of the baby 2 liter bottles so it would be easy to start there. I was just wondering how the two compared to each other.

I think horizontal casting is good for swirl pens. Vertical cast are good for snakeskins, labels, decals, etc. Just my opion.

Here is my opinion, for the little it is worth...

Vertical Casting

Advantages - 1. saves resin
2. blanks rounded when come out of mold

Disadvantages - 1. limited on type of casting abilities


Horizontal Casting

Advantages - 1. Ability for make anytype of casting (swirls, labels, worthless ect.)
2. Easier to make matched sets of blanks

Disadvantages - 1. Uses more resin on square blanks than rounded blanks.
2. Blanks really dont show the hidden beauty until rounded.
(This may or may not be a disadvantage I LIKE SURPRISES!)
