Took my son to see his first pro hockey game Saturday night. Parked 1/2 mile from the arena and walked from there.
Chest pain like I've never had before,
trip to the ER,
seems that 95% blockage in the artery is not good.
Doc roto rootered the artery and put in a stent.
Oh well, I wanted to quit smoking and lose weight anyway.
Off for the rest of the week, guess that's 1 way to get some shop time.

This was not my first warning, so PLEASE, if you even THINK you are having a heart problem, get it checked out. I got lucky this time.

Ron, had the same thing last Aug., could not beleve how much better I felt after the stent with in 24 hours. I quit smoking but gained 30 pounds. Follow the Docs advice and quit, the downside is the wifes cooking starts to taste better.

Ron sorry to hear about your close call, at least it was a close call and not worse. Take care of yourself. I have chest pains and the docs just say well its just your pluresy- How would I know the difference? Oh well.

Uh Roy does your wife read your posts?:tongue::biggrin:.("the downside is the wifes cooking starts to taste better".) As soon as my shoulder replacement heals I am want to learn how to cook some different kinds of dishes than I do now.

Yes and as I told her it's always been good now it's soooooooo much better.......Didn't work I still get the couch:redface:.

Sorry about the chest pain - but sure glad they could fix you up so quickly. Take it easy for a bit.

Glade you pulled through that one. A few yrs ago. my heart was beating in a weird rhythm, blood pressure was sky high. and i felt out of breath. wife took my to the ER. they stuck me in right away. It turned out that i had congestive heart failure. (CHF) week later, i was out. now i take meds every day. the doc said that it was from salt. i used to eat salted sunflower seeds by the LBS. I drove allot. Now i can only have 2mg of salt a day ( that sux) it's funny, i crave salt. Oh well. it's better than going back to the hospital.

The guy we buy our vehicles from also has a locksmith business. Before Christmas he was on a call 40 miles from town. Luckily 4o miles in the right direction. He started having chest pains and managed to cross the bridge from Brewer to Bangor and pull into Eastern Maine Medical just as he slumped over the wheel. They saw him and got him right in for a triple bypass.
Listen to what they tell you and rest up!

Gary, I had to stop my salt usage also and found a product called "Original No Salt" a sodium free salt alternative, total sodium 0%,total fat 0% Cholesterol 0% total Carbs 0% protein 0% Potassium 19%. I love my food and salt and this has let me enjoy food again.....way to much.
It's readily available at Wal-Mart super stores or your local grocery store

Anyone on blood pressure medication or diuretic looses Potassium, and a "Half salt" that contains half sodium and half potassium makes up for the loose and tastes like salt. Just go light on the salt.

Ron; Please quit smoking. My father smoked. He died of lung cancer. I won't say more, but check out this web page.
