Dear Makers - I'm glad to be back to pen making and back to this fine forum after (most of) a year doing portrait and wildlife painting (and other things).

These stylus pens were kindly commissioned by a tech industry innovator for the Holidays:
Back to my usual methods:
Painted the slowly rotating tubes with hand formulated paints, cured x 1 week
Cast with Douglas and Sturgess poly resin + copper and other metal flakes, cured in the pressure pot at 50psi x 2 days
Turned between centers, sanded, polished as usual
Assembled

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to all of you.

Fondly and gratefully - Bob

PS: I was lucky to be juried into the Pastel Society of America this year, and this was one of my submissions to the jury:

Fantastic work, Bob ! ! ! !

Lovely painting ! ! ! ! . . . . That zebra is really ALIVE ! ! !

Lovely pens ! ! ! ! . . . . They look almost alive as well ! ! !

Heartfelt and humble thanks to Rod, David, Mal, Kevin, Todd, John , Charlie, Kenny, Tim, Mike, Stephen, and Mark for the kind words; and thanks to those who have looked and liked.

John Underhill - Many thanks for the fine presentation at the MPG + meeting on 11/5/22! I'm enjoying your Underhill Casting Solutions - Vertical Standard 18 set; and will soon post some little creations made from it.

I'm also enjoying (daily) pastel painting, and will be incorporating some of my home made pastel colors into pens. It's fun to make pastel sticks and pencils with gum tragacanth, distilled water, champagne neutral chalk powder, and raw pigments - extruded from little syringes.

Warmest wishes to all for the Holidays.

Gratefully - Bob

John kindly said: "Thank you Bob, I look forward to seeing your masterpieces!"

Not sure about masterpieces - but always fun in the making.

John - you have contributed mightily to the art, craft, and fun of pen making.

Gratefully, and Happy Holidays to all - Bob

Your artisitic talent is amazing! I struggle with straight lines and circles. My children got their art talents from their mother. My talents lie elsewhere. Thanks for sharing.
