I have made a few casts with alumilite and everything turns out pretty good in the pressure pot. I went and bought some acrylic from Hobby Lobby called Envirotech liquid plastic. Has anyone used this to do label casting and what do I need to know besides the limited instructions on the can? Any help or advise would be appreciated. Thanks Alex

Alex,

I haven't used that type of acrylic but have used some from Michaels. I would recommend you do a search for "labels". There has been several good threads on how to do labels in acrylic. I have not ventured to that as of yet.

Alex that was the first stuff I cast with if your casting is 3/4 thick, I'd only use 4 or 5 drops of MEKP depending on the actual amount of resin, with tubes taking up some of the 3/4 inch you might use 6 or 7 drops of MEKP, It will take a bit longer to set than you're used to, It also will work well under vacuum, before you pour it into the mold, I don't have a pressure pot but I do have a vacuum bell and it works great, It set's up slowly enough to allow most entrapped air to escape.

Thanks, Ken,
That is the kind of stuff I was hoping to get, someone with actual experience with the liquid plastic. That is a great help and I will use your
advise wisely.
