I don't want to through ice water on your party but my experience with taped up boxes from Lowes is that they too often contain returns and too often they are placed back on the shelf without being checked out. I think that everything I've ever had to return to Lowes came in a taped up box. To the degree that I will not take anything from Lowes in an unsealed box unless it is a floor sample and I can see it work first.

I understand what you mean, but if it does not work I will return it and get my cash back. This is a new sander I'm sure of that, but your right about the taped boxes.I will fire it up tomorrow to make sure everything is as it should be.Victor

I wish I'd waited, they were "closing out Hitachis" two months ago at 129.00 so I bought one then, They are good, we finish our stainless tools on ours, and do some serious grinding, the only complaint I have which is really stupid, it the cast Iron table, I can not keep it from rusting, we use scotch brite pads and oil it every other day, Normally I would favor a Cast iron table, but this is driving me crazy.

bitshird I use paste wax on all my cast stuff.I have a 1930's 30" band saw/50's 18" planer/and a 50's 8" jointer that I use nothing but paste wax.I guess you being in Tenn. its a little more humid, but I tell you what we get a ton of humidity being so close to the water in Detroit.I think past wax is about $5 a can that will last a life time. Its excellent on my planer bed it makes the wood glide real nice.Victor
