I like this friction polish. It can come off the lathe finished and done.

True but I found, over the years , the finish was easily damaged by water , or even sap from fruit . Tung oil doesn't suffer like that.

Remounting to refinish , as I once had to do with a 14" bowl , isn't easy or fun.

It all depends on what you want to use it for I guess.
