Hey all--

I've been lurking on this forum for the better part of a decade. Finally decided to join up when I began a lathe restoration project that was quite a ways above my pay grade.

I turn almost exclusively pens, and have been doing so since I was about 16. So while I'm not some kind of advanced woodturning expert, I have 17 years of off-and-on experience with at least pen turning.

Now off to go shamelessly start a thread begging for help

Thanks for the warm welcome, all. Been away from the lathe for a few years, and I'm really excited to get back into it. I have all sorts of half baked ideas for kitless pens, just need to give them a try. I've only ever done kit pens before.
