I'm very new to pen turning. I've turned two pens so far. I attached them for your input. I did fix the pen clip on the cigar with spalted maple. It's fun watching the wood take shape. I don't know how to do the fancy stuff but that's why I'm here... to learn new things and techniques! I also want to start making my own acrylic blanks. Are there local places around this side of the water to buy supplies or is it a trip to Seattle?

Welcome from Sunny Florida ! It looks like your off to a great start. Check out the library, there is a wealth of information there. I can't help with local vendors but the vendors on this site will take great care of you .

Welcome to IAP !!! . Write a short blurb in the Introductions forum and your name will be entered in the monthly prize draw for newcomers.

Nice pens ... you are off to a great start !!!

As for buying supplies, I suggest that you do it by email ordering from some of the great vendors that we ALL buy from .... ExoticBlanks.com; BearToothWoods.com; to name a couple that have some of the best products with great selection and super personal service ... tell them you are new to penturning and I am sure you will find a few freebies in your parcel .... you don't get that kind of service from any of the big names. . If you want more advice along this line send me a PM.
