Hi all, new to the site and new again at turning, Last time was 27 years ago in high school. About a year ago I was given an old craftsmen 12" that was stored outside under a tarp. Its finally up and working.
Started to get interested in pen turning when I cut down a 6" dia. dead lilac bush (unfortunately hollow) and saw the wood. I can get 3/4" sq pieces out of it but it checks and warps very badly, which led me to researching stabilization, and again to pens.
Now I need to dig around the site and I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions
