My name is Charles Crandell,
I started turning pens in the late '80s. I was a licensed builder here in MI.
IN the '80 I was doing art shows selling wooden jewelry boxes and small
turnings . I started selling pens also and the response was amazing , many
people had never seed turned wooden pens. I was buying pen kits from
Craft Supplies and soon added perfume pens, perfume atomizers, key chains, etc.
I,m 60 years old now and semi-retired so I'm getting back into lathe work
which is what I really like most.
I do all my turning on a Record Drillmaster, the only modification to the
lathe was to replace the horizontal tubes [ways] with solid 1 3/8 inch solid cold rolled steel, I would highly recommend this upgrade.
Well I guess that's all for now. I sure am glad I found this site, very nicely done
