Hi everyone,..

I am new here, but not new to pen turning... I turned my first pen about 20 years ago...took a long break and am back into it now.

I've been playing around with inlaying crushed freshwater pearls... produces a neat result.

Next, I hope to work on pine cone and a corn cob pen...

Nice to meet you all!

Thanks for the many welcomes guys! It is nice to feel welcomed by a great group!

As far as photos of the freshwater pearls...I will post some pics, but I have been looking around at the site on "your best work" forum...and my products don't even come close to these! Maybe its because I see all the mistakes in mine.

Here's a try at the pics....
Here's a hard maple slim line with a purple heart Celtic knot. The small blank band at the nib end is crushed black pearl.

This is a cherry slim line with a freshwater pearl inlay.

Next is padouk with a black pearl inlay.

Finally is a hickory with genuine turquoise inlay.

And obviously I'll be reading the thread on how to take better pictures when I have some new pens to show.

Please be gentle guys...:)

Thanks
Geo

X-Zonie Here

I lived in Tucson for 10 years and Mesa for 12. Moved to Alabama after the crash of '07.

Wood worker here that recently discovered pen turning. These guys are a great source of knowledge and sounds like you are going to add to it.

Join the fun :)
