Hey y'all. Can't believe I just found this website! I turned about 3 dozen pens about 4-5 years ago - all wood, then moved on to other things. On a visit to Woodcraft in Atlanta last fall I picked up some colorful acrylic blanks to make Christmas presents for family members. Made them with Father Sing kits from Craft Supplies. That lit the fire again and I started looking around the web for more variety. Boy, there's a lot available now. Maybe there was before but I don't remember it that way. Anyway, I've got a dozen nice blanks from Exotic and am trying out various kits now.
On a personal note, I'm 64 and plan to retire from a career in Accounting at the end of this year. Woodworking and computers are my most lasting hobbies. I really enjoy cutting jigsaw puzzles on my scrollsaws - everything from postage stamps with 9 pieces to posters with 1,200 to 1,900 pieces. I also enjoy sim racing online with iRacing.
I'll be soaking up the tips and ideas around here for a while, I'm sure. What I've seen so far is just amazing.
