HF has there air vacuum pump on sale for $12.99. Thought someone may be interested. Needs a coupon, mine came by email but pretty sure you can get just by going to their site on Web.

But if you have an isolation valve that you can shut off once you get the vacuum, why do you need a large compressor? Now I haven't built my vacuum part for my pressure pot, I'm just wondering if I'm missing something.
Thanks Fred. That's what I thought, so that's the direction I'll go with my vacuum setup.BSea said:I keep hearing that you need a really large compressor to use these pumps. Not missing anything! I use mine and isolate the tank when done. I only have a pancake compressor and I have to plug it in and let the compressor come on....isolate the tank and when the compressor stops....continue drawing the vacuum. Two cycles is usually enough.
But...you don't need a large compressor. It would make it convenient though but like everything else....you pay for conveniences!
Just my opinion...
Ok, now I understand. That does make sense then to have a dedicated vacuum pump if someone plans to do stabilization. All depends on what you are pulling a vacuum on. If it's continually out gassing, you need a continuous vacuum. When I stabilize with Cactus Juice, some of the blanks have out gassed for over 5 hours. This type of venturi style pump will have your compressor running almost continuously.
