John, like jeff posted, a fair number of people use an air brush instead of "rattle" cans for a sprayed finish. I am too lazy to do it, but it should give a nice finish.

Save your money and get one from Air Brush City for around $30.I bought the HF model and it lasted about 3 pens before it fell apart.
