I just found out today that Harbor Freight has figured out a way to drain what little remains in my disposable income....they are opening a store in my town, just 3 miles or so from our house! No more planning ahead to make the long trek to find hot deals, just an easy little commute.

Added to the fact that Woodcraft is within a couple of miles too, my free time and mad money are both in imminent danger!

Woodcraft and HF are about 100 yards apart in Harrisburg PA

:):):):)

The Woodcraft has a large pen selection, and I try to do business with them if possible.

yeah i don't know why your complaining :D you can't get penkits in ireland at all and i have to order them from the U.S or Canada

Sounds like a ripe business opportunity, if you were so inclined...

Don't complain, the Woodcraft by me is closing at the end of this month.:( I am going to have to use mail orders only now.

Can you say "Clearance sell?". They might not since they are a chain, but keep your eyes open!!!

Not on my way home, but much closer than Richardson! I drove all the way over there today to get one of the vacuum pumps that are on sale, and they were out. Won't get them in before Friday! That's the 2nd time that's happened to me!

well I was lucky the nearest HF was 45 miles away, now I have to drive past it twice a week going to the DR. fortunately the nearest Woodcraft store is up near Nashville, 130 miles away but grizzly is going to get the bulk of my allowance after
i heal up.[)][)][)]

Saw your post, Ken. Bad news. I'm sorry you're dealing with that and hope the best during your recovery. I was cutting a blank tonight on the table saw and was so much more careful than usual.

Sad times Indeed. You and I can always carpool to the woodcraft in Manchester. There is also a Harbor freight in West Springfield along with another Woodcraft within walking distance of the HF. I'll have to cut down on the number of times I go now that the drive time is going to be longer.

I'm pretty sure that nearly all Woodcraft stores are franchises, so there might be a big clearance sale in the works.

That store is less than two miles from my house and I have to pass it to get home. They end up with lots of our money.

Oh the depths to which some will stoop. What next? Low prices? sales? Mailers? It's so hard to not become a victim. I've heard rumors that some have even gotten. Arghhh do dare even say it (in the lowest possible whisper) coupons!!!

There is some shyster local to me that routinely runs ads on Craigslist for new HF tools at twice the HF price. He must get away with it, because he keeps doing it. We have 2 HF's here, so you'd think the "consumers" would wise up.

One thing to keep in mind is that when purchasing a machine from HF, GET THE WARRANTY!!!

It's only a few bucks and you can exchange the unit when necessary or get your money back.

Not a bad deal.

With the price of gas here in California, I have to plan my trip. My Credit Union is between HF and Woodcraft. So when I go to the credit union, usually once a week I stop at HF First then the CU and then Woodcraft and then a straing shot home. Being retired makes it nice as HF and Woodcraft are busy on the weekend. HD and Lowes are dead during week thank the construction downturn, still pretty busy on the weekend though.
