Okay, if any of you out there have this bandsaw, or thought about getting it and didn't because they discontinued their riser block kit, think again. I just ordered my kit.
I was doing some research the other night and found out that they started carrying it again. It is a "by phone" order only, but here is the information.

6" Riser Block Kit for 14" Bandsaw (Item #32208)
Item Number: 24536
Price ~$53.00
Shipping: Regular Shipping - $8.99
Faster Shipping - $12.xx

I had emailed the parts department to verify that this was real, and they said that they had 8 in stock. There are now 7 or less, as I have one of those 8 on the way.

The number to call is 1-800-423-2567.

I too have the HF saw with riser block and I love it. It has done all that I've ever ask it to do. And I got it all for $200 on sale and extra coupon, etc. One heck of a deal! (3 yrs ago)

I was at the WC in Ft. Worth and they have band saw blades on clearance at 50% off. They are not timberwolf but I've been using one for two weeks now and they seem to be good quality blades...for aroung $6 each. Don't know if it's at all WC's or just the one in FT. Worth. I wish I had bought all they had for my saw.

Do a good turn daily!

I have had this bandsaw for several years and have loved it. I am definitely going to get the risers. I think they didn't have them in stock out and then I just forgot about them.[:)]

I was looking at the HF 14" saw when I bought mine, but opted for the Delta because it was on sale at Lowe's at the time for about $50 less than the HF... but the riser will be over twice the price for the Delta.. And, I think they are nearly the same saw.. they look very much alike.

I don't have the riser yet, that will happen later this year.

I checked the the WC website but didn't find them. Maybe just rhe local ones are closing them out. The mgr couldn't figure it out because they are their best selling BS blades. Maybe they are changing suppliers or something. The WC stores in Tex are owned by the same gentleman.

Growing up on a farm and having extensive experience in welding, way back when eating depended on it, Is this riser block capable of being made out of 1/2 in thick steel I-beam and 1/2 to 3/4 in steel plates welded to make a block and base? I still have a welder and have access to short pieces of I-beam as well as small pieces for a base.

That was kind of a rhetorical question. I am certainly thinking of getting the HF bandsaw when I retire in about 5 years. I do want the riser, but am not put off from purchasing the HF BS by not being able to buy a riser. I get home every year for a month and usually buy some tool if it is sale priced right. With a sale and 20%, at the right time (May) I would have start enjoying it early. [:D]

Opinions?
