I may just be a proud papa of a new Jet 1236 but I'm so excited I just wanted to share my good fortune.

Picked up last weekend a new lathe with a surprise bag of new accessories included.
5 piece Sorby set
5 piece Craftsman set
6 mandrels and chucks for pens and stoppers
5 different tool rests 3 face plates
duplicator
about 20 bags of Mount Blanc pen kits bushings etc. and some other kits
some other small items not quite sure what they are yet.

PO had heart attack one week after purchase. Never used.

A short drive to pick up and I'm ready to start practicing techniques.

Oh thats right It only cost me one crisp picture of Ben Franklin....... $100 for our friends out of the US.

Looking to add a Beall or other good buffing/polishing system (recommendations anyone?) and Baracuda for my anniversary gift to myself.

Off my high horse and back to work....

My work area is a mess, I am re-designing the space around the lathe. I don't intend on using the legs but build a more substantial stand I can load with sand.
I will post pics of the lathe in place as soon as possible. Raining today so my wife wont have me outside building her new Koi pond (I hope)I will be getting to work this evening.

Hey Tom,
Just how long will it take for this to come to trial? 10-15yrs?[:D] I can help store some of it so it is not so cumbersome for you.[:p][:D][:p]

Always interested in other peoples designs. I started with a 300gal preformed unit, now i'm digging an area that will be 3500gal when completed (~25'x12'x3') just a lot of mud now as its been raining all week.

Ours is sort of T shaped and roughly 1300-1500 gallons. We got the contractor to dig most of the hole and rest was done by hand. My wife and I mixed concrete and formed it by hand (I was a lot younger then). But the next one won't be concrete, we had to paint it with pool paint to ever get the PH down. I'll email you some pictures. Our largest koi raised from scratch so far was around 5.5 lbs.
