My hand have been hurting all week. Four of us put up a six foot wooden fence to make a yard for our house in Big Bear. Haven't been on the puter much and want to do a trivia question soon.

Today I took some pictures of what I think is an antique butter churn we own. There are no markings! It is primarily held together with wood nails, pegs? I can't find a picture to match exactly on the web so I'm wondering if it's home made. Hoping these pictures will turn out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Becca,

I'm betting that it is homemade. Most of the antique barrel churns had metal "gearing" so to speak. Here is a nice link: http://dairyantiques.com/Butter_Workers___Molds.html

I thought I knew a thing or three about antiques. But Cav's link showed me some really different butter churns. That thing you have Becca could be a butter churn. I wouldn't say yea or nay. Whatever, it is a neat item.

Sir William, thanks so much for the link but..........been there, done that! We are interested in selling the churn after having it for 15 years and not really being a collector of them.........impulse buy?!?![B)] Probably going to take it to Big Bear and sell in a yard sale, maybe take it buy one of the antique dealers up there and see if it's worth anything. Thanks for the help guys[:D]
