I need some help from some kindly person on the forum.
I have friends coming down from Miami on abou the !7th and I ams ure they will bring a few items for me.

I am after 1 ( one ) Sheet of each grade of Indasa Rhynowet Redline abrasive sheeting. I cannot get decent abrasive paper here.

I also need a couple of 20z. bottles of CA and some of the paper toweling you fellows use to apply CA.

To assemble my pens I would like an Irwin Quick Grip clamp. Probably a 6" mini would be sufficient.

If some kind sole could assemble these items for me, or the equivalent I would be most grateful.

Of course I will pay for everything including freght/postage in the US.Will have to find some method to arrange payment.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for your consideration.

You can find plans somewhere to build your own pen press, can't recall where but i'll have a look. The ca for finishing I'm guessing can be got in a local hardware. As for the paper towel, bounty kitchen towel are ok.

Thanks Keithkarl. Been down that road and it was just too difficult. Not worth the money either as I really don't have time for a tremendous amount of turning.Just want to keep the hand in, get a few people interested here. Perhaps make a few dollars.

Met you on another site I frequent.Good to see you here to. It's a great site.

Best penturning forum on the net, great bunch of friendly folk who are only too happy to help out a penturner in need.

For pressing the pens together, you can use your lathe. You can turn a block to suit the taper of your headstock and tailstock and leave it bigger at the ends, kind of looks like a plug when turned. Stick a piece of felt or similar material to both and use the travel on the quill to press the parts together. Hope i described it ok

Looked at that too. Problem is the design of the lathe.

The headstock has an18mm thread. No MT. I had all sorts of bother and expense here getting someone to cut an 18mm thread for an adapter I had made. I wold love to get an 18mm nut to do as you suggest but that is asking a bit much in these parts.

The tailstock Does not have a MT. It is threaded 18mm rod with a fixed live centre. I might be able to do something about that but I'm so frustrated I can't think straight.

Cheers,artme.
