How in the $#*&34$##@%$^%$#@% do you put that keeper clip in the eyepiece. Im sure some of you have found a way to do thids without breaking the glass or throwing the whole thing through the living room wall. Any help appreciated.

I use a 2 small pieces of wood, about the size of a q-tip stick. Place one end in place, hold with one of the sticks and very carefully work the keeper in place around the eyepiece. Sometimes it goes in right away, other times it may take me 5 minutes or so.

Sparhawk,

Put one end into the cutout. Hold that in place with the small finger of one hand, then slide the other end down into the trough with a small screw driver. The middle will fall into place - or you can adjust it with the small screwdriver.

Now wasn't that easy?????!!!!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

You did of course check to make sure that the lens was right side up........

(If not there may be another hole in the wall!!:biggrin::biggrin:)

I do about the same thing.. I sometimes use a pencil eraser to hold one end and compress the other end with a small knife, but a little screwdriver will be less likely to scratch the lens. Most of the time, it will take me at least 2, but more likely 3 or 4 tries...:frown:

it took me 2 days to get mine put together. :mad: I was using popsicle sticks. Fought it the first day. put it away, come back to it the next and it jumped right in. :confused:

Put two mirrors in the tube about a half inch, in a V design. Slide the third mirror on top and slide them all into the tube together.

They come, pre-scratched. So, don't be surprised when you see scratches. (My experience is with the "wand design". I have made the other one, but not often and LONG ago.)
