I am making pens for Christmas gifts and have a bunch of Aero kits with the rose gold plating. I am having a difficult time in my mind coming up with the colors of blanks that would go well with rose gold plating. I have a ton of "acrylic" blanks, so I probably have some good combinations, if someone could just point them out to me :) . Thanks in advance, David

According to this thread, black, white, & gray are good complementary colors for rose gold. The pen photo in this thread looks pretty nice.

You might use the search function to look for other threads on rose gold in our archives to see some other examples.

I'm colour deficient (blind) so I ask my wife Marla. Most women are very good with colours so default to asking them to match blanks with platings.

It has been talked about here in the past, what makes our work worth the prices we ask. Craftsmanship is always no1, but I know I have mentioned it many times too and that is coordinating blanks with kits plays a big roll too. You ask a good question. My thoughts are white, and or greens. Gold kits are changing somewhat with the new materials these companies now have to use to keep price down but I liked whites and green with gold. here is an example.

Thanks, I just noticed that the last reply on that posting you linked was mine, complimenting the poster on a great combination of blank and plating :)

I think that there is a bit of variety within the shades of Rose-Gold.
Here's one of mine which seems to suit darker colours better. The plating looks a bit different to the colour of John's @jttheclockman above.IMG_2349.jpg

For sure it is. Mine is Titanium gold. I have a pen sitting on my desk that has rose gold and has a solid med grey blank on it and looks good. Yours looks closer to copper. I think a nice copper blank or copper braiding would look good also. Many choices. I am not liking blue with it.
