to just record 20 seconds of a song so I can upload it to my web-site. I wanted to add some music to the site but when I upload a song the whole song uploads and eats up all my bits,mega bits,micro bits or whatever bits I have:wink::confused::rolleyes:,as you can tell I'm totally computer illiterate

Yep, download audacity... it's free, and easy to use.

I'm with Ed on this one. Websites with sounds are obnoxious. You wasn't going to use Dueling Banjo's was ya ?
 
Ed, thanks that's the one option I hadn't thought of, now if only I can hum in tune and loud enough.

PM me if you want more direct help. I agree with the tool that Pen Maker uses, but I also agree with others that music might not be a great choice.

I have cut music for my daughters dance & ballet company in the past and can help if you want.
 
Dean, thanks I'll PM you. I'm setting up my site as an Italian Opera and was thinking that softly in the background some Andrea Bocelli would be a nice touch. Each page of the site is and Act and Scene # instead of a page # with an Intermission and a final Act. I could be going to far with music but I won't know until I try.

Just my opinion here...anytime I go to a site and it has music, I either back out REAL QUICK or I hit the mute button if I really need to be there. I personally HATE music on a website. Like I said, just my opinion so take it for what you paid for it!
