I have a customer who's requesting acacia/****tum from the Holy Land with a cert of auth. I have some BOW and "regular" acacia from Texas, but can't seem to locate his request.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I think I read that KOA is an acacia...but that doesn;t help. Email Gashan, the supplier of the BOW, and see if he can help.
do a good turn daily!

Thanks Don. I'll email him and see what he can do. This customer also asked for a case made from the same wood. Haven't done a case yet so I may have to outsource that to someone here on IAP who's done wooden pen cases and see about getting it modified.

Don, just for your information Koa is an acacia and from wht I hear it is very simila to our Blackwood ( Acacia Melanoxolyn ) here in the land of Oz.
Sorry I can't help with the other.[:)]

Not sure this helps but
****tum is the plural for ****tah
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/parthenon/3664/acacia.html

****tah is Hebrew for Acacia so it is not known what type of Acacia they are reffering to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/****tah-tree

So really any pen you made him out of Acacia would be made from ****tum.

****tim wood is also mentioned in the bible, but I dont know of a source for it

OK everyone.
It's early so don't laugh at me to much.
What is it with all the "*" in the name of the wood?

It's the "s" word for cr@p.

edit: And if anyone locates a source for this wood, please let me know. I've been looking for some for the past 2 years.

HA! Ron...the IAP software automatically spots the letters S.. .....H... ...I... ... T in the name of the wood and replaces the letters with ****.

Don...who is Gashan? I assumed it was an IAP member, but can't find it. I googled and couldn't find that name either. Is he with the HolyLand Import company? If so, I did email them.
