Hello! I've been collecting fountain pens and enjoy the history of early pens. I'm trying to make my own pens lately after years of old pen restoration and repairing. This pen was my first on a benchtop metal lathe and although problems learning how to do better threads since such a newbie at this, used a 3/8 inch 36 tpi tap and die set but wish for better quality threads …
I used a vintage Waterman 2/4 size feed, Japanese ebonite, and a nice Warrented gold nib to make this Waterman style eyedropper. Very fun! That it is well behaved with ink flow and works great is probably lucky although these 1920's era feeds have been pretty reliable. A few years ago I made some pens with a wood lathe, but the metal lathe is so fun. I thank you here in advance for helping learn how to use it.

Welcome to IAP Glen. There are several here who use metal lathes, quite a number of fountain pen makers and very knowledgeable too. Join in the fun here.
