Hi everyone,my name is Dale and I think I like turning and assembling pens. Here are some of the ones I've made.My relatives laid claim to some others as soon as I assembled them so I don't have a pic of those.Sold two of them today to a coworker who wants to give them as xmas gifts.

The kits I used are all from the apprentice line at CSUSA.Classica, Roadster, Cigar.Reallly liking the chrome/gunmetal combination on the classica.

I turn on a anniversary model SS aka Goldie.

best wishes, Dale

It's good to know I'm not the only SSer.

I figured the file was probably too big.Kinda sucks though cause I don't have any photo editing software to resize it.I guess I could lower the camera settings but then whats the point and showing low quality pics.

What do you mean you think you like turning and assembling pens? Sounds like a crack head thinking they like crack. You are in denial. Accept your addiction and welcome to enablers annonymous.

Welcome Dale, from far west Kentucky, to the addiction, sometimes referred to as the vortex. Be sure to give the library a good bit of time. The link is at the top of the page. You will find an article called Library Index. This covers tutorials on about anything pen making you can think of. You will also notice that there are articles listed by year. Much good info there as well. When these fail to answer your questions, by all means post it here. I have never seen one go unanswered very long. You might also want to give this thread a good look. It has some very good info for the beginning pen turner; http://content.penturners.org/library/general_reference/Getting_started_in_pen_turning.pdf. Grab some wood, make some shavings and have fun all the while being safe.

Welcome fellow SS User.
If you have questions specific to your shopsmith try the shopsmith forums, lots of great knowledgeable guys over there.

Try a free site like flickr.com from there you can upload and choose the image size you want to upload. Loads of other sites that have this option as well. Best wishes and welcome!

I took the suggestion from Mike and got Irfanview to see if it works.

Here's a pic of the first batch and then one of whats left. Please excuse the residue, my fingers must have still been waxey.

My coworker who bought a couple yesterday wants me to make him another for his child. Are there any kid friendy pens out there?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Welcome the addiction from Indiana!

And you're not alone using a ShopSmith either. I use an old greenie that's coming up on it's 60th birthday in a couple more years.

There's a couple different ways on getting pictures in here, but what I do is upload them to the members photo album, then create the message and us the link to the right of the area you type in (under the smilies). Then you get to select from the photos you've uploaded and it creates a small clickable thumbnail of the image in your message.

Depending on the age and if it is a boy or girl. These might work for kids.

or just a basic slimline will work.
