I'm totally new to woodturning. Just finished a buffet table out of pine for my wife and started wondering, "I really enjoy woodworking, but what can I do in a 2 car garage that still holds the 2 cars?" So I started looking at smaller woodworking projects I could do and stumbled onto this site. That was 3 weeks ago. I've been absorbing lots of the forum threads every night. 2 nights ago I went ahead and bought a wood lathe based off of some of the thread suggestions.

So I can honestly say, the IAP web portal is what introduced me to woodturning and pen making and I'm excited to give it a whirl (or should I say "turn"). Y'all sound like a friendly bunch with much to share. Best to you all from the middle of the U.S.

You could always sell your 2 cars, that would give you lots of room for more machinery.:biggrin:

Welcome from Southern California! Speaking from personal experience, that two car garage will soon be a one car or (in my case) a zero car garage.
 
I am honestly overwhelmed with how many people are taking the time to say "hello." This is really cool and unexpected!
