Hello to everyone here on the IAP. I recently became interested in the hobby of pen-turning. I've started from basically no skills at all, and I admit I have a lot to still learn, however I feel that my skills are up to par enough to be able to sell a few here and there to help fund my hobby.

I found this forum due to a link from Google regarding pen-making, pen storage, and pen photography. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here, and as time passes by I hope to be able to help other forum members as well.

I am new to pen-turning, however, I am not new to forums, I am a member of several forums non-woodworking, and non-hobby related.

I appreciate any feedback, an guidance, and critiques that come with this hobby. I am here to learn, that's why I joined.

Thank you for any future information from anyone here. I really appreciate the knowledge.

I have attached a photo as an idea of where I am at right now. I would like to expand my pen styles, but that comes after being able to sell some pens at some online venues to be able to help me afford to do so.

Thanks, I don't get out of town much at all let alone out of state but I'll keep it in mind if I ever get to venture up your direction.

Welcome from WV

Thanks for the welcome. Great site so far.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.

Jim15. I have started looking through the vast collection of knowledge in the library. Its awesome. Already have learned some new ideas, and some additions and changes to make to my pen-making setup to make things go smoother. Not to mention some links to other sites for accessories. I think I'm going to try and make my own pen display case with a lock on it so I can display my pens in a few stores and possibly make a bit of money on the side.

Welcome from San Antonio, TX.
Great picture showing wood variations.
Check Redriverpens.com for style variations for the slimline. its_virgil is a member of IAP and an excellent teacher. Look at his articles for modification suggestions and "how to".
