My son and I got introduced to pen turning at a "Turning For Troops" promo at a local Woodcraft store 2 years ago. Since I own a Shopsmith, and never really used the lathe part of it, we thought we would give it a try.
We have now turned at least a couple hundred pens. Many of course "blew apart" in our learning, and still do somewhat, but we have made several beautiful ones as well. I an more of a woods type of guy, my son is more adventurous and is starting to make his own acrylics.
Now, to find some good shows where we can actually sell more of them, so of course we have money to buy more parts and make more.
I look forward to reading and looking at your pics, to get tips, and see what really can be made. I am real impressed so far by everyone's creativity!
