Yes, There is a Pine Island, Texas (Population994), 45 miles west of Houston between Waller and Hempstead.
I am 85, retired from the City Of Houston as Superintendent of Dept. of Solid Waste Management.
Working with wood since Jr. High woodshop in 1940. Making pens off and on about 10 years, regular last 2 years after wife passed. Sell a few as "THE PINE ISLAND PEN WORKS" at Bellville and Magnolia.
