Hello. I've just turned my first pen yesterday, came out pretty good and I'm hooked after just one. My dad was a bowl turner and I learned a lot from him years ago, but haven't done any turning since. I recently ran into a guy doing some pen turning and got the bug just watching. Over the past few weeks I've been purchasing the equipment and reading these forums. My dad passed away in 1993, I kept his turning chisels thinking I would one day like to get into the hobby, after a bit of cleaning and sharpening they make sawdust as good as ever!
