Hi Folks, I just realized I hadn't posted a intro but better late than never I guess...
I'm Mike from NH. I go by Healeydays as I am a fan of the underrated car the Austin Healey. Did you know the Austin Healey was Carroll Shelby's first choice for the Cobra but was told by British Leyland to go away as they didn't want any competition for their car makes?
I am new in woodworking from scratch but have been a major fan of the reuse of old materials and re-purposing of old stuff into new and useful items so I will be playing alot in the casting arena with the usual stuff and the unusual too.
I am also having fun making end grain cutting boards and am always looking for scrap pieces of exotic woods to blend into my creations which I will let my wife sell at local craft fairs and other locations. She makes custom jewelry from old typewriters and such and I have been doing reuse/repurpose art for a number of years.
Ok, that should be a good idea of who I am. If you have interesting scraps hanging around, let yourself be known. I have already been picking up molds and what I like to call burl butts and other unusual scraps to be casted.
