Hello to all. I am new to turning pens. I was taught by my grandfather on a recent trip to Idaho. It was a memory i will never forget. I look forward to teaching my 5 sons how to also turn pens. Any help and advice is welcomed and appriciated. Thank you

Welcome Michael, from far west Kentucky, to the addiction, sometimes referred to as the vortex. Be sure to give the library a good bit of time. The link is at the top of the page. You will find an article called Library Index. This covers tutorials on about anything pen making you can think of. You will also notice that there are articles listed by year. Much good info there as well. When these fail to answer your questions, by all means post it here. I have never seen one go unanswered very long. You might also want to give this thread a good look. It has some very good info for the beginning pen turner; http://content.penturners.org/library/general_reference/Getting_started_in_pen_turning.pdf. Grab some wood, make some shavings and have fun all the while being safe.

Yes Ed; I am the grumpy grandpa.
I told him about you and Dawn.
The dealers that belong to IAP are worth dealing with, and give you good service,
and at least for ME good items to buy.

I have been dealing with Ed and Dawn since 2006,
that is before they became Exotic Blanks.

Again thanks Ed and Dawn!!

thank you

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. And yes Red is grandpa or as we call him "poppi" very glad he showed me how to make pens. And love the Exotic blanks website by the way.
