I live right outside Indianapolis and love woodworking in general. I was a fairly prolific pen turner back in the mid and late 1990's but have not turned a piece of wood of any sort in about 15 years. It seems that when my children came along, I was always involved in whatever was going on with them at the time, and slowly my time in the shop dwindled to near zero. Lately, my oldest has been showing a serious interest in working with me in the shop and that has re-ignited my interest as well. So far all I have managed to do is get my shop cleaned out and reorganized, and break the reeves drive on my lathe while I was putting on a new belt (both pulleys were already cracked it seems), but I am looking forward to getting busy in time to make lots of Christmas presents for the first time in years.

Johnny,
A welcome from Mississippi feels particularly warm. I grew up in Columbus and lived in Starkville for several years before work brought me to Indiana 20 years ago. And with winter looming in the near future, this is the one time of year when I tend to get particularly homesick. Even though I really enjoy having four real seasons, along about the end of January, I can remember how my mom's dafodils would alway be in bloom by the middle of February, are really start to wish for spring.
