Wife and I are both avid woodworkers. We even cut our own wood on our Woodmizer LT-10. Have a Digital Wood Carver CNC machine that the wife wants to get the 4th axis for so she can turn and engrave custom pens on it.

Besides pens, we also turn a lot of wine stoppers and wood bowls. We enjoy making segmented wood bowl blanks and even make them for sale on ebay and other sites along with layered wood turning blanks for bowls, wine stoppers, and fancy pen blanks. I really enjoy being creative in the creation of the wood turning blanks and always have a bottle of glue near by.

Hi Fred. Whenever I make a delivery in Fort Wayne, I route my trip to go through Berne, IN, to get some of the DELICIOUS cookies at the Gathering House. One of my favorite spots!
 
I used to think the Pellissippi State Technical Community College was the longest college name in the US. That was until I saw Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis - Fort Wayne. Those cheerleaders must have a lot of stamina - "Give me an I, give me an N, give me a D..." They probably can't start that cheer in the second half of the games.

Welcome Fred, I'm just a short ways south of you in Lebanon and actually have a sister that lives in Fort Wayne.

Thanks all for the warm welcome and I will post some pics. A lot of pics I have on the computer are not pen related so will have to take some of those. Lots of pics of sawmill, and cnc machine, even a few videos of the cnc in action and on how to wax blanks easily.

FiferB - Have lots of friends in Angola and camped at Happy Acres in Angola for 3 years. I like that town a lot.

The Wishman - Chris you have a great sense of humor. I like your jokes.

76winger - If you ever come to FW to visit sis, stop on by and will give you tour of the shop and we can have cup of something hot. Have one of those Keurig coffee machines and love it, can make tea, hot chocolate, cider... you name it, and i keep a nice assortment on hand for my quests
 
Hey Fred, welcome to the group. In case you haven't seen it in the Local Chapter forum, we have an Indianapolis chapter and will be having a meeting on March 16th. If you will email me at billbettag@aol.com with your name, email and a phone number I will add you to the contact list for the chapter and you will be advised of the chapter happenings. We have 140 or so member in the chapter so we have pretty lively meetings. I hope you can join us.
