Hi All,
Glad to find this site and the IAP! My folks gave me $100 for Christmas, and I decided I'd like to have something to show for it, rather than just spend it at a restaurant, on gas, bills, etc. So, I took up pen turning. I love this hobby! It's very therapeutic, and means a lot to me. I love to see people light up with happiness when they receive a beautiful pen as a gift. Even as a beginner, I'm having a hard time keeping up with requests to buy them, but still no plans to quit my day job driving a truck lol.
I had only met my grandfather once or twice, but I've been told he sold pens and pencils during the Great Depression to get by. Then, in the 60s and 70s, he was very successful in selling advertising specialties, with fine gift pens among them, which he also gave as gifts. He's long since deceased, but I think he would feel honored if he could see me now.
