Hello everyone, greetings from a new pen turner in the UK. Hope this greeting finds you all well?
I am the training officer for the Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB) so i have been turning for quite a number of years but never been bitten by the pen bug until now.
For those non AWGB members you can check out our fantastic web site at Association of Woodturners and see what being a member has to offer for pen turners and every other form of turning you can name.
America has the AAW Great Britain has the AWGB.
I look forward to speaking to you and asking for advice on my newly aquired turning interest.
Happy Christmas and New Year to you all.
Regards
Brian:beauty:

Hi Brian
welcome from an ex-pat Brit now living in BC, Canada.
Lots of helpful folks on here, I'm sure your new found interest will bring you lots of joy... & even further expense
Keep up the good work!
I note from your address you're in Axminster... not far to go for goodies then huh?

Axminster tool shop

HI Kretzky (Apologies for not using your name i cant quite work out how to do that yet).
Not to far from the tool shop your right (its about 2 miles away from me) and ive managed to visit it 3 times this week end already to get pen blanks and kits.
British Columbia is beautiful i envy you, i got married in June this year and honeymooned there for a month. I hired a motor home and visited Bamff, Lake Louise, Jasper, whilster, Calgary and Vancouver. I'll be back again in 2014 i found the place totally awe inspiring and the people were so so nice and friendly. Makes my country look bad really for the way people treat each other.
As i sat i envy you a great deal it must be a real joy to live there. I's buy a house and Whistler or Banff if i could afford it and come out there myself.
Regards Brian

Hi Brian, my name's David. BC is indeed beautiful but believe me we have our share of weirdo's too. Driving can be a nightmare, no-one uses signals & it's often gray, wet & cloudy. Then there's the politics... but we won't talk about that  I guess it's like a lot of places, looks great till you actually move there. Seriously though it is a lovely place, glad you were left with a good impression. But hey who wouldn't enjoy the place on honeymoon, surprised you got to see much scenery
Take care.
