Hello from another Texan (We seem to be taking over recently)

I have been turning for about two years and I joined IAP about four months ago. I have already looked through a large portion of the excellent library and put a few of the techniques into practice.
When I bought a lathe two years ago I knew my father would have been immeasurably proud. His prize possession was an 8000lb, three phase power, industrial lathe that he somehow put into his garage, a garage that hadn't seen a car for at least 20 yrs.
Hopefully my Jet 1224vs will suffice for me, as I am trying to resist my genetic predisposition to believe that bigger is better.
