I started turning pens last year, mostly for family and friends. I find it is a good way to relax. Just retired after 30 years as a firefighter. My wife and I also own a rubber stamp/t-shirt/sublimation business. I found this group while searching for information on turning. Looks like a ton of information and a great group of people! I live in Elida, Ohio, which is about halfway between Toledo and Dayton.

Welcome Jack! There is a wealth of information here. Congratulations on your retirement. I got twenty three years in the vol. fire service, the last six as an Assistant Chief.
 
Hello, and welcome from Monroe Michigan (100 miles north of you). It is a great group of people here, and we look forward to seeing some of your work. There is an active group of Ohioans (I think that's what you call yourselves) on the site and the Michigan group seems to meet up in the area between the state line and Detroit. So enjoy the camaraderie, craftsmanship and advice.
