Hello again from Glasgow, Scotland.
I joined the forum in February this year and I apologise, I don't think I've visited it since. I've been busy, but admittedly not that busy, but I now have a small Fox Lathe (read, cheap) to see if I can do this. I also do general woodwork and have spent a lot of time (and spare cash), setting up my workshop. I joined the forum for help, instruction and criticism of my attempts at your hobby. I've met a few people at a local turning club I attend and they also offered to help me in my endeavours.
There are local (in Britain) suppliers for equipment and materials and I hope to find out which type of pens and blanks are available and advisable for a beginner.
I'll try and keep you posted how I get on.
