I have been a member here for some time and I have seen and been a part of IAP's generosity throughout the years. Especially when it comes to the health and well being of fellow members and their families.

I am a private person by nature, but I would like to share some health issues I've been dealing with lately and ask for some prayer requests from you all.

I recently underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery on May 6th. The surgery went well, but I had a massive debilitating headach for a few days afterward. It turns out I was having a reaction to the anesthetics, but at the time I didn't know what was causing them. After 4 days of this, my son took me to the emergency room where they promptly gave me a Morphine shot and took a CT scan of my head.

The scan showed a mass on my brain, and an MRI was performed a couple of days later. Turns out I have a tumor approximately 3cm X 2cm X 3.5cm at the base of my brain. I go to see the Oncologist in a week and I'm pretty nervous about the whole deal. I will know more later, but this is all I have to go on for the moment.

Any and all prayers and well wishes are greatly appreciated. I am a pretty positive person, and I'm optomisitc but the waiting game has been especially hard to deal with.

Thank you for letting me ramble on about this, I feel better already.

Joe , sorry to hear about this . The good thing is they caught it early and that's most of the battle . Keep a positive attitude , the human mind has healing powers that the doctors are just learning about . Our prayers are with you . We are here for you so keep us posted .

Thoughts and prayers are with you Joe but I'm sure you'll be fully fit again in no time.
A positive attitude works wonders.

Joe, you're in my thoughts. The not knowing must be the hardest part. I'm sure that as you get more information things will be easier to deal with. Please keep us posted and all the best for you.

Joe,

Thank you for trusting us with this request.

We will be praying for you, your family and your doctors as you journey through this time. We pray that you will find unexplainable peace during this time and for a complete healing at journeys end.

Tim

Joe, you are in my prayers. As a health care provider, over the years I have seen many cases similar to yours with good outcomes. I will hope and pray that you will be fully restored to good health.

Joe,
We will be praying for you and your family. I have been cancer free for a year (43yrs old) and am living proof of the power of prayer.

Hey Joe,
My prayers and thoughts are with you. Stay strong and never take your eyes off the Lord, He always there, and talk to him often. Good luck my friend.

Joe, I'm sorry to hear about this. I wish you all the best and hopefully they will find it to be something they can take care of. I went for an MRI yesterday and am sweating it now.

Joe, you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Try to remember, worry is useless. IF the diagnosis is good, there was no need to worry, if the diagnosis is troubling, there will be plenty of time for "strategic planning" when you KNOW your adversary!

BTW, worry is also VERY human and unavoidable, mostly. But TRY to concentrate on something else. Keep your mind busy - wasting effort on "worry" will actually make you physically weaker - not what you need right now!! (NO matter what the diagnosis)

Again, our prayers will be with you.

Good health to you!

Joe, I've been down your road, postive mental attuide helps, prayer helps and keep turning, it helps keep the mind occupied. I know from personal experiance that miracles do happen.

Peace be with you,
Larry Pickering

WOW! Thank you for all the well wishes. You folks are fantastic!!

I am staying pretty positive and turning has helped keep my mind off of everything. I just got back in the garage yesterday (the shoulder surgery recovery has kept me away for the last 2 weeks)

Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes, I'm glad I was able to share this with you folks.

Joe, I also know first hand the kind spirit of this forum when some one has health issues. My brother is a neurosurgeon in Louisiana. If you have any questions you would like relayed to him, just let me know.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. The unknown can be very intimidating but stay strong. Remeber that God will never leave you alone. He is always by your side. If you need anything please let us know.

Joe, keep the positive attitude as strong minded folks often do much better in this type of situation.

I too will add you to my prayer list and I definitely wish you the very best and offer to you any support that I can give.

God Bless you and your family!

Thanks Cav. I appreciate the offer, I may take you up on it as time progresses.

You folks are definitely the BEST! It is nice to have so many people to turn to when things get rough. I appreciate all the well wishes, thanks again!

Joe,

I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Keep thinking positive thoughts. I believe the Lord will provide for all of yours and our needs.
