Guys,

I am looking for someone who does this or if someone already sells them.

I have a good friend that served in the military (Navy I think) that I need to make a pen for as a birthday gift his wife wants to give him. I was wondering if any of you or anyone else you know has made a casting with an embedded military coin or other symbol significant to their service.

I think he would appreciate it. I am not sure if that is what she wants yet but I wanted to show her options.

Full size challenge coins would be difficult I would think. You could maybe cast buttons or or do decals. I embedded an old us navy logo type image for a Sierra pen the other day.
 
the process that i use would work, however, i believe some of those coins have a paint or colored surface that may break/crack when bending to fit around the tube. If that is not a factor, then it should work be relatively easy
 
Been a Navy guy for 18 years and I make these for my Marine corps buddies. I also carry one similar with a Chief's anchor. Wood pen pro sells "patriot clips" for designer pens. They have a lot of rank and warfare devices. I know you were asking about casting, but thought I'd give you another option. Hope this helps.
