My shop is closed right now ---we are doing a major shop cleaning.
I am also moving the lathes and adding more lights. Anyway it was off to Lowes--have you bought any 12/2 wire?
Well it's been a couple of years since I bought a 250 ft roll. Gee if you think gas has went up ---hang on to your wallet. The salesman even had the nerve to tell me that the price had came down.
Anyway---it's been a week and I am not even half way done but it's getting closer ever day.
Today I get to move the BIG lathe----gee fun.

Tom----I figure I should be able to work off at least 10 more lbs. Just think of all the fun you are missing out on.
I have found some real REAL nice pen blanks---I knew they where hiding----somewhere----LOL.

Maybe Arizona needs to open up that big copper mine in Tucson area again...

Years ago when I was in Navy, we use to buy a huge open magnetron tube that was part of our radar system on the ship... it had a huge brass ring that held the magnet.. and also up on the stack we had two antennae that sat on their own ceramic insulators that also sat in a hugh brass ring... the insulator ring was at least 24 inches diameter.. we generally cracked at least one insulator per picket and burned out at least one magnatron tube per picket... being the navy, if we changed one at sea, the old one just went over the side into the sea.. about 60 to 100 lbs of brass each.. in port it went into the dumpster... I don't remember the prices of the Magnatrons, but the insulators cost $1800 each (in 1963)... immagine the amount of brass wasted..

When I did my shop last year, I put in the same 12/2 wire, but only needed about 150 feet. I think it cost nearly $75 for the wire alone.
