This morning I started on a PR bottle stopper. My dust collector is not hooked up yet, so I turned the stopper without the normal dust collection I normally use.

By this afternoon, I was sneezing and congested like I was having alergies.

Anyone experienced this???

Not from PR, But I had a friend that was allergic to Styrofoam like the white Styrofoam cups he wasn't thinking too well one night and drank a cup of coffee and it made him swell up like a toad, so I would guess it would be possible.

I think it is possible to have an allergy to anything but you won't know until it happens. I wonder if maybe a dr could run a test for you?

Allergy testing can get to be expensive and painful... my daughter and first wife were tested... they put 200 little shots of various things in their backs in a grid... the daughter was only 8 at the time and not very big, so 200 little skin pricks on her back pretty much covered it...

Did you wear a good respirator, not just a dust mask? The PR dust is very fine and an irritant to the lungs. It is probably what is causing your respiratory symptoms. When using PR or acrylics it is really best to wet sand to reduce the tiny particles floating in the air. I used to occasionally sand without a mask and experienced the symptoms that you mention. I found that wet sanding and a good quality respirator made a world of difference. Standing in the shower and breathing moist warm air should help your body with the symptoms.

Randy, she is my savior and a fine friend at that try that first the other thing you may want to look at is the ingredients on the label and see that you may be allergic to polyester (isn't that Polyester Resin). I know that some people can break out into rash if they touch polyester.
Anyways, I hope you get to feeling better soon and hopefully W/O the testing. I am on an HMO and they didn't cover that much of it though and the darn test is very expensive.
Best of luck to you.

Allergy tests can now be done all by blood work. Much better results also
