Well, I've gotten more exercise in the last two hours than in the last two days!!! I'll bet I have been up and down from my chair and to the front door at least a hundred times. I've been trying to catch up on my email; but I'm thinking I would have been just as well off to have installed my butt on a lawn chair on the front porch and just enjoyed the passing show.

I still enjoy Halloween.....albeit from the "OTHER" side of the screen door; but I am glad it is only a once-a-year activity!!

When we bought a house about 15 years ago, we moved in on the 30th of October. Knowing that there will be kids, we bought a couple bags of candy and was ready. What we didn't realize is that we had moved into a popular drop off point for the cities kids. About half way through the night we were running very low on candy and had to make a run to the store and get more. After about 120 kids it finally died down. Luckily, my daughter loved answering the door, so I didn't have to. This repeated for about 5 more years, then slowly trickled off to about half or less. It got to the point when we finally moved out we were getting about 20 to 30 kids on a nice night. Now we have moved to the sticks and don't see any. I do and I don't miss it.

I look forward to it every year. Sometimes I don a costume, sometimes not. I really like watching the kids... but we only got about 10 this year, compared to about 40 when we moved in six years ago. [?] Oh well.

I really enjoyed the Trick or Treat times in San Antonio. It seems that most young moms (18 to 24) like to dress up and take their babies (not yet toddlers). I'll never forget Pocahontas.[}:)][:D] She'd have driven Cav out of his mind... okay, I know that's a rather easy task, but it woulda been fun to watch.[:p]

It's my favorite day of the year being how it's my birthday and I am usually getting some cash from some source. [:D] My son will be 2 in a couple of weeks so this was his first realy Halloween where he could walk and do it the right way. I was at work so I didn't get to go. Wife said first when people would open the door he would just say thank you. He finally got the hang of it and would say trick or treat, thank you and bye all in the same breath. She had to chase him into someones home where he seen a little girl playing with toys in the floor and decided that looked like more fun than trick or treating. Wish I wouldn't have missed it.

We had 2 kids come to our door this year. We live in a neighborhood out in the country. I think they all went into town for the organized events.

Bruce,
We didn't have a single visitor -- ya think it has anything to do with having to go down a 950' unlit driveway in the middle of nowhere?
