No odor at all. The wood was very wet; it was just cut down last week. Cut very easily. Turned the walls to about 1/8 inch. Hope it does not crack as it dries. I also have a knee from the tree. I will try and cut it so as to get maximum grain change. Looking foreword to that one.

I bet that is gonna look awesome after it dries completely! It will probably have some interesting warping going on.

Wow, and I have been burning my hackberry. I have some that has splated that makes great looking pens but green wood look great also.

Don't burn it; turn it!

Try boiling your green wood and see if you don't like the results. During the past five years or so I have boiled my green blanks and not really had any problems at all.

It just happened. I usually try and leave some parts of the bark on my bowl turnings. This one just seemed a bit unusual.
