Just looked at my email. Harbor Freight has the 2.5 gal. pot on sale for $64.99 untill March 7. Seems like a pretty good deal. Not sure if its on line only or in the stores too.

I searched "pressure pot" on HF and nothing came up except spray paint pressure pots.

I'd love to see what one of these pressure pots looks like. I take it they are used for making blanks, right?

Got mine today. go to the HF website and do a keyword search for "Paint Pot". Pick the 2.5 gallon one and print out the page. Take it to your local HF store and they will honor the internet price. Don't forget to bring the page, otherwise they won't do it...

Hell, if you have a 20% coupon that makes it $51.00. I guess I am going to see if the store is selling at that price also.

Just got mine today. Have to send it back. It won't hold pressure above 20 PSI. Leaks like a sieve. The one fitting that the pressure gauge is supposed to fit into was also broken, but luckily I had a 1/4 npt male/female elbow that sufficed. But it was all for naught.

They won't do an advanced replacement either. You send it back, they will send you another. Sigh.

Does anyone know if the Alumilite pressure pot is the same thing as the Harbor Freight one?

Everyone I got leaked. I got 3 they leaked real bad around the top seal. The trick is (and it work for all 3 for me) tighten the lid and pump it up to 60 -70 lbs. It will start hissing and blowing air out the top seal gasket then it will pop and seat the gasket and it will be cured. I think it mite be kind of like seating the bead on a tire. It worked for me I was going to take the first one back because of the leaking but keep pumping air into it and the seal popped and now it is tight. And the newer ones I think are a much better design less things to leak. You need some volume in your air tank to pump the air in faster than it is leaking to seal it. But try it, It will probably work.

The one I just built, like the other 4, I dumped all the fittings I didn't need and used brass plumbing fittings. The cheap Chineese fittings need too much tape or sealant to make them work and you may over-tighten and crack a fitting. BTDT

does anyone know , do you need the vacum pump as well or just the pressure pot and are there any instructions on how to use it

You might want to get the vacuum later but there won't be any instructions for what you want do with it. Only how to hook it up to a paint sprayer.

Lin.

what about instructions on here to use it to make pen blanks? i found the instructions on fittings and how to set the pressure pot up for making pen blanks, but then i am kinda stuck on how you use the pot for making pen blanks, like pressure settings, time , etc...
thanks harry

I just got one. It does not tell you how to hook one up to a vacuum, nor does it tell you how to use it for anything but paint.

Harry, just do a search on this site for pressure pot, and you will have many nights worth of reading!
