My wife and I are going to be on vacation soon in the Fort Myers, Naples, Sanibel Island area of Florida. Besides the obvious beaches, tourist attractions, etc., -- any good woodworking shops or places I should see?
This doesn't really meet your area of Florida, but if you happen to make it up to
Tampa (about 2hrs N of Ft. Myers), I remember there being a woodworkers store called "Craftsman". At least thats what I think it was. It was a really neat store. I stopped in there many years ago. I asked someone from the Tampa area about it a year or so ago and they said it was still there.
Try and find a good Cuban sandwich. I'm tempted to drive 6hrs just to get one.
Naple has a really good English Pub slightly off the beaten path and serves fabulous slow-draught beer.
If you're driving and have room, Sturgis Lumber in Vero isn't too far and has a great selection at decent prices.
You'll be 5 hours from us if you're in Naples next Saturday.
